basking spot....help

can someone advice me..my beardys are a beutifull colour one minute then a dark dark colour 5 mins later..any help please im getting so stressed about these young guys as there so young..also should basking spot be 100 degrees at the rock they stand on..or 100 degrees at there head level??????thanks guys i cant get to sleep for tossing and turning worrying
