I would probably put the body promptly in the refrigerator, then call a veterinary college, or college with a good biology department, and ask if they want it. I'm sure opportunities to do dissections on large reptiles aren't something they come by often, and the result will be beneficial for the herp community in general--vets with more reptile experience.



This is something that you can feel good about, whether you were extremely attached to the snake, or not, and it doesn't cost you money.
