Been a while since I made a post on here...Just been observing basically.

Ok for any of you building those homemade misting systems using sprinkler valves do NOT buy the black Toro valves I went through two that I THOUGHT were not functioning properly. Even after they shut off...there was still water pressure coming through causing water to drip through so I just thought it was something wrong with the valve. I got onto Home Depot's website and read that with that particular valve..It still bleeds some water through (less than .5 GPH) and doesn't seal all the way..It's used for garden drip systems.

So I went and got my money back...bought a cheaper valve that does seal properly hooked it up and everything works fine. I still need some misting heads. The ones they sell around here are too powerful so I'm gonna order some from the lady that owns that Basking Wonders website.

My setup is basically complete. I wanna add some drainage though so there is no accidently dumpage of 2 gallons of water on my floor. I thought about epoxying some plexi or regular plastic together for a little 3" pan with a hole in the middle draining into a bucket underneath the cage. A kind of collecting bin.

One thing's missing though..Chameleons..It's been forever and I still have not near enough money for a pair of nice panthers. I mean I'm closer but it's not enough. I think often people underestimate the planning and designing that can go into a nice habitat that will give your chams a happy healthy home. Happy healthy homes equal happy chams..And happy chams live longer lives than unhappy ones. No one would like to see their breeders live short lives. There's always little things you can tweek to make their environments better.

This doesn't apply to anyone that posts here..But all too many times I've seen large scale breeders keep reptiles..not just chameleons in less than adequate conditions. They keep them like this for the simple purpose of pumping out babies to make themselves more money. People like this have forgotten what first brought them to this hobby.. The enjoyment of KEEPING herps. Yes sometimes money is a side effect, but anyone who gets into this for the simple purpose of making some green..They've loss their minds. I'm sure I've already spent more than I'd ever make as a breeder..But I'll keep spending because I love these animals..
