Male Black Milk in Season

I own a single male black milk, about 4.5 years old, and it looks like he has just gone into his mating mode for the year. (He's really active, and refusing to eat.) I'm wondering if it is advisable that I find a female for him to mate with during this time, or if I should just let him get through this phase. If anyone has any suggestions (or eligible bachelorettes - I'm in the St. Louis area) I'd greatly appreciate it.
