Idaho Falls Leaders Look at Exotic Animal Ordinance
By Brad Hudson
Idaho Falls -
The city of Idaho Falls is looking at a new ordinance for exotic pets. The city council is set to review a more detailed ordinance that would change what kind of animals can be kept within city limits. Animals that would be outlawed would include: alligators, bobcats, wolves, raccoons, and any venomous lizards, reptiles or fish.
The new proposal has some city council members upset.
"The criteria as to what an animal should be kept as a pet should be whether its a danger to people or to property, or whether its a public nuisance and not be determined by what species it is," says City Councilman Larry Lyon
The council will review the proposed ordinance May 13th.
