RE: Mealworm breeding/cycling question

I dont remove them .. but i have been removing my pupas from the larva as i see them because the larva have been eating at them .. i think its because they are to many in one place ..





i put veggies out on little paper plates for my beatles and leave the places in there .. i have also used plastic lids with a little cut off the side so they can get in and out really easy.. i personally think that giving them something to eat makes them less likely to eat the eggs ..





Not to mention i got i think 50 beatles crawling around one cage with pupa still waiting to hatch and another one with about 10 beatles and 50-60 pupa and the next one has about 100 pupa not hatched and i have 4 other drawers with mealies that are changing over and at all different sizes..



I have been trying to expand .. needless to say i have used a 50lb bag of rolled oats and several containers of quick oats and baby cereal



But the good thing is .. i never have to look far to find enough freshly molted white mealies to feed to my turt ... she loves them .. and the ones that are so soft i can feed them more often with out worries about blockages .. YUM!!
