Why don't you leave the pk rabbit in over night and see if it dissapears? I would think that is worth a shot. Try knocking it out instead of killing it...it is safer and should induce the same feeding response if the rabbit has a pulse. I feed live because twice now I have gotten ft mice from a well known pet store and they have had the guts come out in a soupy mess and the snake has busted the mouse all over when she bit making a huge mess...sometimes they just start bleeding when i thaw them out and are nasty so I just leave those rotten fts alone...no problems with pinkies or fuzzies though, just adult mice (no I do not thaw them in the microwave if anyone got that idea...I usually bag them and put them in hot water or i let them thaw under a lamp)...I also cannot kill anything expecially a rabbit so what i do is watch my snakes when they eat and if the mouse gets into a position to where they could possibly bite my snake, I put a pen or something in its mouth and push its head back until the snake is done with its work. I have never had any problems with this method because I am a sneaky ninja and can do this without the snake noticing.
