This type of lump/swelling can also be caused by a fungus in the snake's nasal passages. This happens often as a result of raising the animal in a sweaterbox with inadequate ventilation. If this is the case, keeping the snakes enclosure slightly warmer than normal with plenty of(if not excessive)ventilation will eventually clear up the problem.
