That's so funny!



Did you ever see the Croc. hunter episode where there were mice running everywhere at a grainery in Australia? And snakes were wanted to help get rid of some. (there were literally millions of them running everywhere.) All those millions will either die from old age in a year or two, or will be eaten by wildlife. But if someone who loves reptiles wants to have a pet, and a few rodents are "killed" for this purpose, it's a horrible thing.--Crazy people.



Interesting, I read once that the two most maligned animals in the world are also the ones that have saved the most human lives.



Those 2 animals are the bat and snake. It is estimated that bats have saved the most lives by eating so many mosquitoes that they have prevented more malaria deaths, and snakes are number 2 by keeping rodent populations in control and preventing plagues. Now, just because mice are cute, we should value them more than the "evil" snakes?--even though the mice are the ones that carry all the diseases, and the snakes are a preventative for this. While bats can carry rabies, and poisonous snake bites take a few lives, these risks are tiny compared to the benefit these animals provide us.



I know, there is a difference between wild populations and domestic populations, but put things into perspective people! It is amazing how we try to be so "humane" all the time, and we want animals to live in the wild, yet the wild is the least "humane" place to be. Yet another example of hypocrisy.
