I have noticed at shows (I go as a buyer)sometimes venders overlook me. I kinda thought it may be because I look much younger than I am & I am a female. When I start to ask questions many are very good about answering & are real good about answering when the cash comes out! I still get odd looks from my students when I bring in my big snakes for reptile day, they are shocked that a 5' tall female would keep a 10' snake. But they also look at me as someone with answers (sort of an "expert" about all these "weird" animals. A few of my students are really getting interested in herps & hopefully having a female teaching them about them they will be more open minded!
