in nature.A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine brought her daughter over to the house so that I could provide info for a Biology project that her daughter was working on.Lucy(daughter) was fascinated from the get go,however she had been exposed to snakes before, much to the chagrin of her mother.Patty was terrified from the second she set foot into the snake room. She stepped on the rubber hose of the shop vac and I was lucky she didn't have a heart attack. She did, however, touch a snake, and with a few more visits,I would bet that I could have her holding an animal.
Ironically,it seems that a lot of people who are scared of snakes wind up being snake nuts themselves.A woman named Grace Wiley was one of the first prominent females in herpetology. She wound up at the Brookfield Zoo.People couldn't believe that this little woman messed around with snakes. She was very careless and free handled Cobras, ect.Unfortunately, she died of a Cobra bite!
My wife was originally terrified, but now she handles them without a thought.
