Please help me identify this snake

Hi,



Could someone please help me identify this snake I recently found in my apartment. People here have opinions ranging from it is a deadly relative of the coral snake (in Mexico they say coralio) to harmless.



He showed up on my floor in the late evening and I captured him using an ice cream tub and let him go. He seemed very happy to be outside and quickly sped off. He was about 14" long and it seems 3 colors: mostly white with black and tan bands. I have looked at hundreds of pictures of snakes today, but I don't see anything with similar banding.



The snake was observed in my apartment in San Felipe, Baja CA, Mexico. That is northern Baja CA near the Sea of Cortez.
