Stupid question bout housing

I have a 7'x2.5'x2.5' custom glass fronted cage houseing my 8' female Columbian Red Tail. If I were to get a new addition, a neonate red tail, would housing together be an option? My ifrst instinct would be to seperate but maybe since its so small, the big one wouldnt even think it was food or nothin but then again there is always the problem of squishing... Can I get a finite answer please
