growth rate---AMAZING! AND a question

I just measured my tegu... 11 days after i got him... He's grown 2½"! I cant get over it!



My only concern is he's only awake about 1 hour (if that) a day... This cant be normal but he's perfectly healthy...



Whats the deal?
