Here in Michigan our wetlands have been reduced to way below 25% of their original amount. This great loss of habitat has caused many plants and animals to become scarce in our state. Reduction of wetlands continues today because of development.

On my property I've tried to create wetlands and I have, but it's not the same thing. In a few years I'll be gone and the habitat that was created will go back to its former habitat. The only thing we can do to preserve good habitat is to not destroy it to begin with. Let the charge be to stop development in sensitive areas NOW!
