Well not sure how much help I can be but my mother was terrified of Well not sure how much help I can be but my mother was terrified of snakes, and I do mean terrified. She would even run from the fake rubber/plastic ones in stores. After a family friend who owned a 6ft Albino Burmese and a small BP started working with her. Starting with rope, then moving to small BP then finally to the Burmese. He got her getting use to being around them, without pushing issue, and only having her do what she was willing to do. I.e.: Pet, bathe, hold, etc. Where she wouldn’t even think of being in the same room with one without it being in a secured cage. After a good bit of time, she got to where she would hold them; bathe them, etc, as long as someone else got them out of the cage. We finally got her talked into letting me have a BP, 2 years after that I got Skittles. Having him in the house alone has got her less afraid of them, within the year I’ve owned Skittles she will now even get him out of the cage herself. To be exact she also let me get my second BP here recently. Occasionally she will still jump slightly or even catch her breath in fear when she forgets they are around or doesn’t expect to see either of them but otherwise she has made major improvements. Now if she will just leave me alone about getting over my fear of spiders.

Hope that helps in someway.
