Origin of the stonewashed pastels?

Did Stan import the first stonewash or was it hatched out? I thought I read somewhere that it came from a Graziani pastel breeding. I personally don't like all the different pastel names, except for the stonewash which is quite different then the others. I've seen crappy and awesome versions of each line. Just because you import a super nice pastel doesn't mean it's anything more then just that, a nice pastel.



Just my opinion,
