Does anyone have any info about hognose eating their eggs?

I have a few western hognose in my collection and today while checking egg boxes I noticed an egg floating in mid air. When I open the box a female western looked up at me with a mouth full for egg. I scrambled (no pun intended) for the camera but couldn't locate it and since it looked like she just started to swallow it I opted to save the egg instead of continuing my search for the camera. I wasn't quick enough the egg has several slits in the shell. She has been feeding great up until about 4 days ago and I recovered 11 other eggs so I don't think she at many, but I don't know for sure. I know some kings will eat their eggs but I have never heard of hognose behaving like this.
Anxiously awaiting your responses!
