Moving cross country...HELP

I am moving from California to North Carolina. I need to know 1) what laws or rules do i have to abide by to bring along my little corn snake and 2) how on earth do I bring her along? I will be traveling by car, and that's a 36 hour road trip. What do I do? Is it okay to take her in/out of state like that? I am having a hard time finding rules on this, and I am moving in three months. Thanx!
