Dr. Bush is a good guy who truly finds these animals fascinating. The show avoids as much sensationalism as possible (by Animal Planet standards!). And while it shows some serious snake bites, I think that the producers and Dr. Bush do a good job in not painting a terribly negative picture about rattlesnakes. Instead, they raise awareness about the perils of living and recreating in this particular area of California while giving these snakes the respect that they deserve (which sounds like heaven to me!).
