Well, first off, a Hogg Island boa IS a type of Bci. However, they will stay smaller than their Colombian cousins that are more prevalent in the trade. Gus at RioBravo is the one to talk to for insular boas. There are several subspecies of Bci that stay at or below the 6' range. As far as dumerils go, some will stay under 6' but others can easily reach 7-8' or more. And no, there's really no telling which they will be. I bought my pair of Dumerils in '99 and the parents were in the 6-7' range or better. My female is right at 5' and the male about 4' - neither of them has shown any appreciable growth in over a year. Granted I have fed them more leanly than many keepers typically do because they don't have the metabolism of the redtails, which is how most keepers feed them. As another option, rainbow boas stay within the size range you're looking for and are great captives (I have a Colombian rainbow myself). They're a bit more work in some ways that the Bci, but still great pets.
Good luck in your search.
