In Aurora Colorado I am beginning to fight similar ridiculous laws. It is even illegal here to own poison dart frogs because their name is "poison." Snakes and lizards over 12 INCHES long are illegal within city limits because an 11 foot Burmese Python killed a man who hung it around his neck.
Just a thought but people have a right to own pets. Pets become part of the family. I am an animal lover who has turned to reptiles because my severe allergies and lifethreatening asthma are making me give up the idea of furry pets. At this point I have to take pills to pet my dog. What about the rights of people to choose a pet that complements their lifestyle rather than threatens it. A furry little hampster or bunny can (and has) put me in the hospital, but my illegal 14 inch rough green snake is staying with my best friend in Denver because I am trying to fight this and she could get me a fine of $150.
