My experience is that if the female has enough weight after the first clutch she'll go again regardless of anther breeding especially if she was first bred early in the spring. Fertility in these second clutched has been zero. If you were looking to DC I'd definately recommend a second breeding after the first clutch is laid. Generally speaking though the production of a single breeding effort is enough for me to take care of. I've found the best way to prevent automatic double clutching is to keep my females relatively thin to start with. | ||
