Wow!! Never heard of that happening to anyone before. Honestly, i don't think that he would be coming out to greet you but then again you never really know! My guess would be he probably thought he was going to get fed or that you were some type of prey. My best explanation but i guess without being the snake you'll never really know! He just might have been happy to see you!
