They can, but not always.
I wouldn't be palpating a friggin' female that's due to lay eggs. If she has eggs, they will be layed. Leave the damn snake alone. They search for a nice quiet place to lay, so no wonder she's past her "due date".
And they don't lay on a specific day, so how the heck can she be 2 days past the lay date? They lay within a range of days that has been recorded to cover 19 to 45 days. So is your snake at Day 47 after PLS? -----
