I have never been able to feel eggs by palpating after they start to really develop. IMHO, you can only palpate early on. Towards the end, the eggs are large, smooth and flexible.



I would not palpate this late in the process anyway. Only after she has laid do I check for retained eggs.



Just leave her alone and carefully check daily.
