Hey,
You are right, if we go back a few years, however, a study done by several herpetologist, declared the subspecies classification invalid and have declared them full species. So, what does that all mean? It means this, Python Curtus Curtus (Black Blood), is now, just Python Curtus. Red Bloods, are no longer, Python Curtus Brongersmai, but are now Python Brongersmai. Borneo Short-tails are no longer, Python Curtus Brietenstini, but are, Python Brietenstini. I think that you get the point. Taxonomist are hard at work reworking nomenclature at every turn. Sometimes I think just for the hell of it.
