I do not believe that these snakes are born with an illness that will all the sudden kill them at age 3 and if you would like any stastistics on this I would be happy to share them with you. Now should you worry? I think that we should all worry about anything that happens out of the ordinary and you should be very aware of all your snakes or of the one that you have to see if anything and I mean anything is new. If you find something look it up either in book or the internet or just ask some people or vets. Ask more then one or two vets though because most out there have no idea what to do about snakes nor how to properly diagnose them. If you see something in your snake that is out of the ordinary and it turns out to be something then keep this in mind. Once you see something it is already pretty sick and has had this illness for at least a couple weeks. Because of this it also takes a while to cure them. If you remember nothing else in this long boring post rember that statement. It will save or kill your snakes. I recently lost my baby burmese which was 9 weeks old thanks to a bad vet. Please remember to get a vet that knows exotics well and if you can't find one then call Dr. Fitzgerald in Denver at his practice "Alameda East Vertrinary Hospital" he is by far the nicest and best Vet out there. Not to mention that he is also the guy on "Emergency Vets" on animal planet. Wish I knew that about a week or 4 ago. Of course hind site truely is 20/20. | ||
