Banning it simply drives it underground, people are less likely to know what they are doing and also are less likely to seek proper medical care in the event of a bite since they don't want to risk loosing their animals). That all aside, hognose, like virtually all other 'colubrids', are venomous. However, being technically venomous does mean that they are venomous from a practical/medical perpective. Hognosed envenomations are typically of trivial concern. [ Hide Replies ]
