The cells ability to produce yellow is effected by the defect that causes its inability to produce red...I should say MOST yellow is removed...not USUALLY it is removed. This is why snows yellow out as they mature...but the yellow is not as vivid as in amelanistic animals. In either case, it looks to me like the animal in question has brown...not a color seen in anerythristic animals.



In axanthic animals (not boas) the opposite is true. The same cell misfunction occurs only effecting yellow and MOST red pigment.
