Hey i have to comment that i think Hoggs get a bad rap for having temperment issues. If you are looking for a Hogg to be a breeder then you should leave it alone feed it when ever its hungry and handle it only when you need too. If you are looking for a pet that wont get to big I think Hoggs make amwazing pets, just like any animal the more time and effort you put into making the animal use to your smell and touch the better off your animal will be around you and your kids. Now i have to admit i do have a breeder hogg female who has quite a personality BUT even with the minimal exposer she gets to me and holding her or bathing her, within in this last year she has calmed down dramatically and would make a wonderful pet at this point. So i think that either a Hogg or Nic would make amazing pets. Personalities can't all be blamed on the snakes at this point, could you imagine getting a dog and not trainning it at all and then being upset with the dog when he doesnt know not to potty on the rug or how to roll over, doesnt that seem silly???? So base your new animal on some other feature.. I love my hoggs and would recommend them to anyone who is thinking of owning a great boa...

Didnt mean to lean away from Nic's i think they are awesome too but have little personal experiance with them.
