I finally got around to posting a few new pics of the shop on the retail page. Over the last few weeks things have started to fall into place at the store.
Tommorow we get our cc machine hooked up and will be accepting credit cards, and have telecheck to prevent against bad checks (that soo far luckily have not been an issue).
Yesterday I finally recieved the banner I had made, and I really like the way it looks. Now I just need a large lighted or neon sign and everything will fall into place.
Parking is still an issue, and Im starting to compile a large amount of pictures of my neighbors parking SIDEWAYS infront of my store. Its become a heated issue, that Im afraid is going to end ugly. I have resorted to sitting at the door with a bat at times as they pull up 3-4 deep in the cars and just laugh when I tell them to move it.
Of course the tow company never makes it in time, and even though they are also tennants of my landlords, that hasnt seemed to help when calling him. O well some old schood beat downs will do the trick I figure....LOL
As for the shop pics, I have begun to cover the display with cork bark, fake plants, and live moss. However I hit a set back when my 150 lb bale of cork ran out about 1/3 the way through the job (and that was sale stock...LOL). So now I need to get about 3 more bales just so I have some for sale and to finish the display.
Once its done it will look very sharp, even if it makes the display cost a grand or two more....LOL
Business has been fair for this time of the year, and I truely think the store is going to be a great success. Thanks to alot of people who have helped out allong the way, and Im sure in the future.
Sadly I have had a few escape issues, most notebly a chondro this last week. Running a store this large, online, and shows is very overwhelming. I will likely need hire some help in the next year as my wife and I are running on empty, and I havent had a day off in months.
The boas have settled into the shop well, and a good routine has set in with all the animals. My rodent colonies are starting to take off and I have rats crawling out of my ears. Ive resorted to freezeing at pinky stage just to free up space for the next batch (not that Im complaining).
Well enough rambling, the links to more new pics of the shop
