I think that you are referring to the NY City law that passed several years ago. This is on the state level, and has been rollign around various committees for some time, and has now passed the assembly and senate. It just needs Pataki's signature to become law.....



I have heard 3rd hand that at one time Pataki had a pet iguana and turtle, so perhaps there is hope...



Also,a staff member of the bill sponsor told me today that they will be amending the language, and not including the entire family boidae, but rather just the largest pythons and anacondas..



We'll see what happens
