Those were my two choices also. I've got both right now. A male Dumerils boa which is around 4 years old and a little under 5 feet, and a female hog at about the same age and she's only a little over 5 feet.
The size is going to depend on how much you feed the snake (Obviously!) and on the parents like the previous post mentioned. If you decide to get a Hog Island boa you should
probably be extremely picky about who you buy it from. Most of
the hogs I see are mixed, their heads look just like Columbian
Boas and they should be slimmer and smaller. I've seen some
huge Dumerils, I guess I got lucky with mine. The other thing
is that Dumerils can be very picky eaters. They're gorgeous
snakes though and very mellow. Thanks..........tc
