I think Amazon Basin implies that the specimen was collected in the Amazon basin portion of the country, rather than from the country's mainland. I think most of them are from Ecuador, but I can't say that that's always the case. The ones I've seen look like BCC from Ecuador, Peru, or Columbia. It's probably just creative marketing...."Amazon basin redtail" sounds cool, doesn't it? Personally, I'd rather know exactly where the animal is from. If you really want to know, ask the person you bought the snake from. They should be able to tell you the lineage of the animal.
