Yes they do, but not just anybody, you have show that you are quite the herptologist, also largely depends on what state you are in, i think it is quite easy to get a permit in NT, but in other states like Western Australia near impossible.Quite sad really, as there are still populations of rare and endangered pythons that cant be collected. To tell the truth, even most of our captive GTP's are not australian, illegal snakes that have been allowed to stay under an amnesty, even steve irwins gtps i believe or have been told have south guinea blood and i think orginally were confiscated from someone else by the national parks and wildlife department and given to his zoo.
