4-1/2 inches? How much does she weigh? That small, she shouldn't be in with the male. How old is he? If he's trying to mate with her, that could be stressing her out big time - she's too small to be breeding, just going by her length alone. Also, she's probably scare of you - how much bigger are you than she is?
