You can mount them right on the glass w/ some silicone (just be careful not to get the roots) and just spray them enough so drops of water collect between the leaves. Bright light, but not too bright. I had a dracaena that lasted quite some time, and is very pretty w/speckled leaves. I'm not sure if crested geckos are tropical, so this might not be a ny help, but just about any succulent that does not have spines works great. They are arid/semi-arid plants though. Pothos is a good one. Do cresteds ever eat plant matter? Leos don't, so most any plant is OK w/a few exceptions. also try ponytail palm, most moss, and sanseveria (snale plant) works very well.
