Do female cresties shed before egg laying?

I just got an adult female crestie a couple of days ago. She is about six years old and should have eggs coming. I have no idea when she is going to lay them. I just wondered if they usually shed before laying eggs (like leopardgeckos) because she seemed to be shedding her sking when I checked her last night. I don't remember ever reading about this anywhere.
