The sire is the genetic carrier, proved out by being bred to two different normal females and produced two separate litters of aberrant babies, even though he appears normal. I forget the ratio of aberrant versus normal babies in the first litter my friend produced in 2000, but out of thirteen in my litter this year, eight are aberrant patterns or partial stripes.
