I guess my previous post needs a qualifying statment.
The initial concentration of chloramine in the tap water was already particularly low. Therefor I didn't really expect too much of a reduction after adding the reptisafe. Surpisingly, it did lower it, just not very much since it wasn't that high in the first place.
If you think about it... too high a concentration of anything in their water would be harmful to a reptile wether it be chlorine, chloramine, ammonia, salt, etc. In this case I got to see exactly what those concentrations are, so I know what I'm drinking as well as what my animals are drinking.
In all honesty, I think the levels that I saw were negligible before and after the ReptiSafe. Will I continue to add it to my boa's water anyway? You bet!
Pick up some Chlorine and Chloramine test strips next time your at a pet store. Should be in the aquarium section. I'm curious to see how others water compares to the water here.
