And if they are not sandblasted clean, they can get fungus and bacteria on them. If you're going to do it anyway.. 5% bleach for 20 minutes let it sit on the sidewalk in full sun to dry after it is rinsed. Grapewood, manzanitta, and cork bark is my preferred wood. But still need regular maintainance.
