I'm not sure there is a "proper" method to feed FT. There are, however, many techiques. Some of my BPs did not care if it was heated or not. I'd thaw it out and throw it in the cage - gone in the morning. My chondros will not touch it unless it's warm. To do this, I put the rat in a large bowl (metal). Then I put another bowl on top of that and add hot water. This transfers the heat from the metal bowl to the rat without getting wet. Often, I have to wiggle warm rodents in front of them. I also try to feed in the evening at about dusk.

I only freeze once. If not eaten, in the trash it goes.
