Yes, I have had gravid females apparently reabsorb their eggs on occasion. In my opinion, this most frequently occurs when the eggs have not been fertilized. From my experiences, gravid C. vestigium females are more likely than some other collared species not to lay in captivity. Not sure why this happens, but obviously it's preferable to the lizards becoming egg-bound. Incidentally, some of these same females have successfully laid clutches in subsequent years.
