Yeah, i think you made the right choice. Keeping two snakes in the same cage just has too many risks. Although occuring only rarely, pythons have eaten other pythons. Also i find it more of a hastle to have to seperate when feeding, if you have seperate cages you just throw in the rat or mouse(dead) and walk away.
