I have never had him strike. I have had him since shortly after his first shed and never once has he tried to bite me. Now my female she would strike at anything that moved close to the glass and I use to use gloves to get her out. My key to that was be persistant but gentle I just let her know that even though she would get quite nasty that she was comming out of her enclosure. now I have no problems with her at all she is as gentle as my male. It took about 2 months for her to calm down and that was getting her out about once a week. good luck with feeding and hopefully your bp will calm down a bit.
