King cobras (Ophiophagus hannah) are almost exclusively snake eaters in the wild, with the occasional lizard or monitor even slipping into their diets, but not mice or rats...however in captivity, due to it being both difficult and expensive to provide a snake diet, most kings are switched over to rodents through scenting usually. Most keepers don't seem to notice any problems with it and it's actually recommended by most keepers. [ Hide Replies ]
