It's not, but I am not a reptile vet. In humans, they don't know what causes hemangiomas. Usually it's congenital, meaning a birth defect, but I have NOT heard of a study that has proven it genetic. Unless the Dr. has found other lesions in the baby, my view would be that it was a one time thing. Hopefully, it's just a vascular tumor externally, and they will take it off and he/she will just have a tiny scar.....and make more beautiful babies!
