Hey,

That's a Common Wolf Snake you got there. I've caught one before too.

Some info:
The Common Wolf Snake is pretty timid but if you agitate it it might attempt to bite. Its non-venomous and nocturnal. Can sometimes be found around houses hunting for geckos.

If you're planning on keeping and can't catch geckos for it to eat then you can try feeder crickets or feeder frogs which can be found in most any aquarium. They sell them as food for large carnivorous fish like arowana.
