One of my current favorites for snake hides are the plastic saucers for flower pots. The garden department at Home Depot usually has a wide selection of sizes and they come in orange, green and white. They’re cheap, reasonably durable, easy to cut with snips or a utility knife, and best of all, very low profile – most sizes are two to three inches high.. Snakes usually take to them right away. Duraco, the brand widely available in the Midwest, also makes a rectangular planter tray in various sizes. I use one that’s approximately 23”L x 6”W x 1-1/2”H as a kind of simulated burrow in some cages.
